Sicherheit im Orbit

Entwicklung von Verfahren und Technologien zur Sicherung von Raumfahrtsystemen und deren Nutzung

 

 

Raumfahrtgestützte Dienste stellen heutzutage eine Selbstverständlichkeit im täglichen Leben dar. Diese reichen von der Kommunikation über die Navigation bis hin zur Zurverfügungstellung von sicherheitsrelevanten und wissenschaftlichen Daten aus der Fernerkundung oder auch aus der mehr grundlagenorientierten Weltraumforschung. Durch die stärker werdende Verzahnung von Raumfahrtsystemen und der dazugehörigen Infrastruktur mit ihrer Vielzahl von Diensten und Anwendungen wird es immer wichtiger, die Verfügbarkeit und Zuverlässigkeit des Gesamtsystems, bestehend aus dem Bodensegment (Kontrollzentrum und Betrieb), Transportsegment (Raketentechnik), Raumsegment (Satellitentechnik und Nutzlasten) und Nutzersegment (Dienste und Anwendungen), sicherzustellen und dessen Einsatz zu optimieren.

 

Da es sich in dieser Gesamtheit um ein komplexes und hochgradig interdisziplinäres System handelt, muss diesem Aspekt auch in der Forschung und Entwicklung Rechnung getragen werden. Nur durch die Verbindung verschiedenster Disziplinen unter dem Blickwinkel des Gesamtsystems kann eine erfolgreiche Fortentwicklung „end-to-end“ zustande kommen.

Die dazu erforderliche Breite des Forschungsspektrums ist in nahezu idealerweise durch Munich Aerospace gegeben. Im Leitprojekt „Sicherheit im Orbit“ untersuchen die Partner verschiedene Aspekte, die eine hohe und zuverlässige Verfügbarkeit von raumfahrtgestützten Diensten sicherstellen. Dies sind u.a. die Erfassung und Beseitigung von Weltraummüll und die Sicherstellung eines kontinuierlichen und autonomen Betriebs von Satelliten speziell im Hinblick auf Störanfälligkeit und Fehlerfälle, wie sie durch die Weltraumstrahlung verursacht werden können. Die Betrachtungen beschränken sich dabei nicht nur auf das Raumsegment, sondern schließen in gleichem Maße auch Aspekte der Zugänglichkeit, Störsicherheit (z.B. Jamming, Spoofing), Authentifizierung, Verschlüsselung und Integrität von Satellitensignalen sowohl für die Kommunikation als auch die Navigation mit ein.

 

Die durchgeführten Forschungen sind ein wichtiger Beitrag dazu, dass die Gesellschaft in Zukunft bei immer komplexer werdenden Systemen die raumfahrtgestützten Dienste und Anwendungen weiter mit einem hohen Maß an Zuverlässigkeit und Vertrauen nutzen kann. Insbesondere sind die Forschungsarbeiten auch im Hinblick auf zukünftige sicherheitskritische Anwendungen, wie z.B. satellitengestützte Flugführung, Überwachung von Krisen- und Katastrophengebieten, Schutz von Infrastruktur und Grenzsicherheit, höchst relevant, da hier eine kontinuierliche und zuverlässige Verfügbarkeit der Daten und Signale unabdingbar ist.
