Munich Aerospace Summer School on Urban Air Mobility

10. July 2019 – Experts from science, industry and politics have been discussing the chances and challenges of urban air mobility at this year’s Munich Aerospace Summer School. 80 participants gathered for the conference at Georg-von-Vollmar-Akademie in Kochel am See on 8-9 July 2019.
More particularly, the technical, societal and regulatory preconditions for the launch of air taxis in Germany, as well as international best practices were explored. On the second day, Munich Aerospace’s eight research groups presented the status and progress of their work.

Among the speakers were the Member of the German Bundestag and supporter of the Urban Air Mobility Initiative by the city of Ingolstadt Dr Reinhard Brandl, Professor Brian German (Georgia Institute of Technology), Professor Mirko Hornung (Bauhaus Luftfahrt), Professor Rolf Moeckel (Technical University of Munich), Professor Eike Stumpf (RWTH Aachen) and Dr Andreas Klöckner (German Aerospace Center). The Munich Aerospace Summer School has a different theme each year. It is part of the Munich Aerospace Graduate School and addresses the Munich Aerospace Research Network and interested individuals from science, economy and the public sector.
