The Munich Aerospace Scientific Advisory Board Welcomes Its New Members

30 September 2020 – At its meeting on 29 September, the Munich Aerospace Executive Board and Scientific Advisory Board welcomed four new members to the team. Following the end of the term of his predecessor, the Advisory Board has appointed Dr. Günther Kohlhammer as the new Spokesman on Space Technology. The Munich Aerospace Executive Board had proposed these candidates to the Members' Meeting for election.

Bertram Arbesser-Rastburg, President of the Austrian Institute of Navigation, previously headed the Electromagnetics and Space Environment Division at ESA. Professor Dr. Schmidt-Bischoffshausen was Head of Strategy for Group Research and Patents at EADS Germany, while Dr. Günther Kohlhammer became ESA’s prominent first Chief Digital Officer. The Scientific Advisory Board has appointed him unilaterally as Spokesman on Space Technology. Dr. Gerd R. Kraft held the position of Director of Aerospace Management at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) before joining the Scientific Advisory Board.

The Scientific Advisory Board is a consultative body dealing exclusively with scientific issues, advising the Association in particular on matters relating to long-term research and development planning and the assessment of research projects. The Scientific Advisory Board has a prestigious roster of individuals from the research and science communities.
