Scholarship recipient Blanca Pablos on research stay in Montreal

31 August 2018 - Funded by the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and her
extra budget, in May Munich Aerospace Scholarship Recipient Blanca Pablos
has the opportunity to go on a research visit to McGill University and
attend the RLS Global Aerospace Summit in Montreal.
Visit to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McGill
University
Following an invitation by Professor Hoheisel, Blanca is able to spend
two weeks doing research at McGill University, learning about new
optimisation models applicable to many problems in aerospace. In
collaboration with other students from McGill and of Professor Hoheisel’s,
some theoretical results can be produced and tested on optimal trajectory
problems for Blanca’s PhD research project. The research stay provides an
interesting insight into a different university and research approach and
proves very beneficial for both sides.

During
her stay, Blanca is also able to attend the
Regional Leaders’ Summit (RLS)
network’s 2nd
Global Aerospace Summit
in Montreal at Centre technologique en aérospatiale (CTA) in Saint-Hubert,
Québec under the theme "Aerospace Sustainable Technologies to Address
Industry 4.0 Challenges". The summit is an excellent opportunity to meet
students and professors from the RLS partner regions (São Paulo, Shandong,
Upper Austria, Georgia, the Western Cape, Québec and Bavaria) and to learn
about to a diverse array of novel Aerospace 4.0. topics during the lectures.
Lunch and coffee breaks lead to great networking opportunities and exchanges
of experiences and ideas with aerospace students from all over the world.
