Forum Munich Aerospace: Developing VTOL Aircraft at ERC System

Speaker

Dr. Marco Stuhlpfarrer, Chief Engineer & VP Technology and Innovation, ERC System

About

ERC System is developing VTOL aircraft through a combination of simulator-based development, scaled flight models, and full-scale testing. The presentation outlines this development path, including several scaled aircraft, the ECHO demonstrator flown in 2023 and the ROMEO aircraft tested in 2025.
A main focus will be VICTOR, ERC’s future product vehicle. To accelerate its development, a full-scale demonstrator was designed and built within one year. It is used to evaluate the aircraft configuration, propulsion, structures, systems and overall integration, supported by simulation and earlier flight-test experience.
The presentation will conclude with an outlook on the next development steps towards the VICTOR product and the further maturation of the technologies and capabilities required for future flight testing and operational use.
