Forum Munich Aerospace: Vaeridion – Unlocking the potential of zero emissions regional flight

Speaker

Jasper van Wensveen, Lead Engineer Overall Aircraft Design and Integration, Vaeridion

Jasper van Wensveen is an aerospace engineer and was the first employee at VÆRIDIO. He is deeply involved in the design and development of the battery-electric Microliner, working at the intersection of airframe architecture, propulsion integration, and certification-driven engineering. With a background from Delft University of Technology, Bauhaus and Airbus, he combines strong technical foundations with a systems-level perspective, contributing to the advancement of Regional Air Mobility and the transition toward fully electric flight.

About

This talk will explore the vision and technical foundations behind the VÆRIDION Microliner, a battery-electric aircraft designed to enable zero-emission regional flight. It will outline the key challenges of electrifying aviation, ranging from energy density and propulsion integration to aircraft design and certification. Building on this, the talk will highlight the operational concept of regional air mobility, including high-frequency, short-haul routes and new network models. Finally, it will look ahead to the role of electric aviation in decarbonizing air transport and unlocking more efficient, sustainable connectivity across regional markets.
