Munich Aerospace Alumna Caroline Specht received the Best Student Paper Award at the European Control Conference (ECC 20)

26 May 2020 - Munich Aerospace Alumna Caroline Specht received the Best Student Paper Award at the European Control Conference (ECC 20). In the paper, titled “Neighborhood estimation in sensitivity-based update rules for real-time optimal control”, a method to estimate the domain of validity of the Sensitivity Theorem about a task parameter vector for a given model-based nominal solution of a nonlinear parametric optimization problem is proposed and applied to a task parameter space. The paper was co-authored by Munich Aerospace research group members Professor Matthias Gerdts of the Bundeswehr University Munich and Roberto Lampariello of the Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics at German Aerospace Center (DLR).

The European Control Conference is hosted annually in Europe with the aim to promote academic and industrial developments in the areas of systems and control and their related applications. The conference was the 18th in the European Control Association (EUCA) sponsored series. It was hosted entirely virtually in St. Petersburg, Russia from 12 to 15 May 2020.
