ORGANISATION
Pooling individual key aerospace competencies, a training centre was founded in 2010 dedicated to research, development and academic training: Munich Aerospace e.V. – Bavarian Research Network.
Through Munich Aerospace and its pooling of research, graduate programmes and teaching an alliance has been formed between the Technical University Munich (TUM), the Bundeswehr University Munich (UniBwM), the German Aerospace Center and particularly its institutes located in Oberpfaffenhofen (DLR), as well as Bauhaus Luftfahrt e. V. (BHL). The primary goal of this alliance is to focus regional strengths and activate its synergies.
The goals of the Association are especially served by the concentration of the various types of scientific and technical expertise, the identification of common research goals and research priorities, defining Munich as an attractive European academic aerospace training centre in the process.
Munich Aerospace is particularly dedicated to the exchange of ideas between research, teaching, politics, and business. The non-profit Association enjoys funding by the Free State of Bavaria.
