Since 2015, Munich Aerospace has taken on a central coordination function at the Ludwig Bölkow Campus in Ottobrunn/Taufkirchen. Here, the non-profit association strengthens the relations between science and industry, SMEs as well as start-ups and paves the way for regional, national, and international cooperation.
The Ludwig Bölkow Campus is a joint platform of science and industry for cooperative research, teaching, and innovation.
Since 2013, the eight consortium partners have been shaping the development of the campus in the south of Munich together with the Free State of Bavaria. At the Taufkirchen/Ottobrunn site, the aim is to consolidate Bavaria’s competitiveness and innovation leadership and secure a leading position in important future markets by means of top-level research, education and training at the highest international level and the promotion of entrepreneurial thinking.
The activities of the Ludwig Bölkow Campus are based on the cooperation of two independent legal entities: Munich Aerospace e.V. representing the scientific community and LBC GmbH representing the industrial Campus consortium partners.
Munich Aerospace’s role on the Ludwig Bölkow Campus is closely interlinked with the association’s areas of activity, which leads to a considerable expansion of the network and to an even stronger leverage effect of the applied funding.
