The Munich Aerospace Research Network – Connecting Excellence

Munich Aerospace unites the concentrated research expertise of four strong partners: TUM, Universität der Bundeswehr München, DLR, and Bauhaus Luftfahrt. Together they form a unique network that brings together all aerospace-related chairs, institutes, and departments – interdisciplinary, synergistic, and future-oriented.

In addition, Munich Aerospace cooperates with LMU, Munich University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Würzburg. As coordinator of the RLS-Sciences Global Aerospace Campus, it also collaborates worldwide with leading research institutions in Québec, Georgia, São Paulo, Upper Austria, Western Cape, and Shandong – including McGill University, Georgia Tech, the University of São Paulo, and many more. This cooperation spans joint research projects, scientific exchange, and innovative e-learning formats.

At the same time, Munich Aerospace leverages the RLS-Sciences alliance to promote knowledge transfer across industries – for example in the fields of small satellites, digital health, or energy systems – and works closely on the national level with the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI).

The result is a research ecosystem that shares knowledge, connects talent, and accelerates innovation – shaping the aerospace of tomorrow.
