Forum Munich Aerospace – Geospatial Artificial Intelligence for Rapid Disaster Response and Street Network Monitoring

Speaker

Dr. Hao Li
Chair of Big Geospatial Data Management, TUM

About

There is a growing need for effective, timely, and intelligent disaster response, as emphasized in the United Nations Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. Fortunately, the increasing accessibility of geospatial big data (BGD) and recent advances in Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) offered a promising solution to enable a rapid, scalable framework to assess various types of damages and affected areas, for example, the Mozambique Cyclone Idai in 2019 and the Turkey and Syria Earthquake in 2023.

In this talk, Dr. Hao Li, a senior researcher from the Professorship of Big Geospatial Data Management (TUM), will share recent advances in GeoAI for rapid disaster response, and introduce their perspectives toward an innovative solution for real-time street network monitoring under disaster scenarios.
